Webinar: Automation at UFST – Playwright and Cucumber

When working with complex and business-critical systems, quality cannot be left to chance.

This is especially true for the Danish Agency for Development and Simplification (UFST), which is responsible for some of the most central digital solutions in the Danish tax administration.
To ensure robustness, stability, and high quality in their solutions, UFST, in collaboration with TestHuset, has implemented Playwright and Cucumber as part of a Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) approach.
This method has made it possible to create automated tests that are both easy to maintain and closely aligned with business needs.

In this webinar, Thomas Johannesson, consultant and instructor at TestHuset, shares his experiences from the project. He will explain how the implementation was approached in practice and what results and lessons have come out of the collaboration.

Webinar Content

In this session, we dive into how UFST, in close collaboration with TestHuset, has built a future-proof and efficient test automation solution based on Playwright, Cucumber, and a BDD approach.
You’ll be taken on a journey from manual regression testing to a scalable, automated solution, where technology, organization, and collaboration have all played a crucial role.

You will learn about:

  • How UFST’s needs and existing test setup were analyzed and transformed into an automatable solution.
  • Why Playwright and Cucumber were chosen and how these tools complement each other in a BDD setup.
  • How to work with Gherkin syntax and feature files in practice to improve transparency and collaboration.
  • How automated tests can be integrated into a larger testing environment, contributing to reporting and documentation in tools such as XRay.
  • And not least: the advantages and challenges UFST has encountered throughout the project.

Through this presentation, you’ll gain insights not only into the technology behind test automation but also into the strategic considerations, decisions, and lessons learned from a close collaboration between client and consultant, a partnership driven by one shared goal: ensuring high quality, more efficiently, and with fewer manual resources.
