At TestHuset, we have several dedicated teams of test consultants working together to solve complex challenges for our clients. In this article, we visit three of TestHuset’s skilled testers, Helge, Jonas, and Cahit, who provide insight into a typical workday. Along with two other TestHuset consultants, they form a strong expert group currently engaged in a large and exciting project. Let’s explore their experiences and perspectives and see how they tackle the challenges in their daily work.
Our technical testers, Helge, Jonas, and Cahit, face various challenges in their daily work. They are currently involved in a large, complex project for a global client in the energy sector. The project requires a deep understanding of the client’s extensive development and delivery infrastructure, which is spread worldwide. Additionally, they must navigate both technological and security challenges.
“Our task is to ensure that the client’s products, especially their energy production units, comply with all requirements,” explains Cahit. “This includes ensuring that these units function correctly and deliver the expected quality to the client’s customers.”
“As a system architect in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) System Team, I am responsible for advising on and implementing test strategies that support agile development methodologies at an enterprise level. We work closely with the client’s development teams to ensure that testing processes are integrated into all phases of the software development lifecycle.”
Helge, who, in addition to being a technical tester, also serves as a technical test architect, elaborates:
“To achieve this, we work with many different technical disciplines and use a variety of tools and techniques. As a system architect in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) System Team, I am responsible for advising on and implementing test strategies that support agile development methodologies at an enterprise level. We work closely with the client’s development teams to ensure that testing processes are integrated into all phases of the software development lifecycle. We also advise the client on using a technology stack with many components for test automation, supporting Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) in a microservice world.”
“We help teams design and implement automated tests based on understandable and readable specifications,” explains Jonas. “Additionally, we work on updating and improving existing code and transforming the test setup to make it more efficient and reliable.”
Helge continues to describe their diverse work:
“This includes improving communication and collaboration between various teams and stakeholders. We also advise on selecting test management tools that can support agile transformation processes at an enterprise level. Furthermore, we develop proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate how these tools can be integrated into the organization’s workflows to enhance the efficiency and quality of testing processes. We design automated report generation systems that compile test results, test data, and information about test environments and systems. These reports provide crucial insights into testing processes and help identify areas that require improvement or further investigation.”
Our technical testers use a wide range of technological tools in their daily work, helping them navigate the complex tasks they face. These tools are essential to ensuring efficiency and quality in their work.
“In our work, we use a range of programming languages, including Ruby, Python, JavaScript, and C#, to integrate and adapt various commercial and open-source tools. The existing tests are built on tools like Selenium and JMeter, but we are currently adapting them for a microservice world that is more event-driven and API-based than before.” says Helge.
He continues: “We are in dialogue with the client about the testability of the system so that we can shift testing further down through the architectural layers. It is a pleasure to build a test that not only identifies errors but also improves the system architecture.”

“When you enter as a team at a client site, you can support each other when facing complex problems,” says Helge.
Cahit adds: “As a new consultant, I had some concerns about my role. I used my colleagues for help and professional sparring through peer learning.”
Jonas adds: “Working as a team also allows us to share laughs and fun moments, making the work more enjoyable.”
