ISTQB Acceptance Testing

The ISTQB Acceptance Testing certification course focuses on the collaboration between product owners, business analysts, and testers in acceptance testing, including the definition of acceptance criteria, design of test cases, and the importance of cross-functional collaboration to ensure high business value and reduce risks associated with product releases.

Learning objectives

In this specialist course, you will receive an internationally recognized certification in Acceptance Testing, with the following outcomes, among others:

  • A professional approach to acceptance testing (covering user acceptance testing, contractual– and regulatory acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing).
  • Concepts and methods for the acceptance testing process within traditional and agile development, including verification and validation of produced artifacts.
  • Methods for engaging in close and effective collaboration between business, testing, and other stakeholders in acceptance testing activities.

Target audience

The ISTQB Specialist Acceptance Testing certification course is for you who are already ISTQB Foundation certificed and is involved in software acceptance testing activities. This include people in roles such as product owner, business analysts, tester, test manager, test consultant, user acceptance tester, and software developer.

Course format & exam format

In a few intensive days, you will be taught the topics included in the exam. The course comprises theoretical overviews, practical exercises, and classroom discussions. There will generally be a high level of participant activity.

Preparation and homework assignments

Participants are expected to allocate 5-10 hours for pre-course reading and complete 2 hours of homework each evening during the course.

Exam format

The exam is a 60-minute (+25% if English is not your native language) multiple-choice test with 40 questions, conducted without aids. To pass, you need a minimum of 26 correct answers or 65%.

Meet our Trainers

Maja Andresen

Meet Maja Andresen, TestHusets Trainer. Maja has over 20 years of experience in IT projects and quality assurance of IT solutions. She has previously worked at organizations such as Danske Bank and Ørsted, where she held roles as Tester, Test Manager, Test Mentor, and Leader. For four years, she was responsible for Test Management across Ørsted, including test concepts, resource management, and cross-organizational initiatives such as automation and agile transformation. Today, in addition to teaching, she works as a consultant specializing in testing and quality assurance.
